First picture of my new bunrabs

I know it isn't a great picture but I had to wait till they were peeking out of the nest. I don't want to disturb things till their eyes are at least open.

Very sweet, I am glad you are back to keeping rabbits. Keeps you young. My chilckens started laying eggs again a couple of weeks ago.

Re: First picture of my new bunrabs

That was a broken black buck over a blue doe?

The blue is that a true recessive so all your blacks are carrying blue?

Regardless its a VERY nice looking bunch.  Congrats!!!

Another adorable batch!  I am also very glad you were able to get back to raising your bunrabs- you truly are an inspiration to us all!

Re: First picture of my new bunrabs

Hoodat, you know me, don't know much about animals.  But do you have any blue ones in the bunch?  How many adult rabbits do you have?  Are you back with the number of rabbits, where you were before your surgery?  I love being able to share your rabbit experience with you via the net! smile

The buck is a broken black and the doe a black self. I guess they both have the recessive blue gene. I have another blue in this batch but I don't know yet whether it's a buck or doe. If I bred the two blues I might get a chocolate. I always loved that color; so rich looking especially in the Rex. That would mean keeping an extra buck though and I really don't have the cage space for that.

Hoodat, I love to read your posts.  And my question is totally off topic but I want to know how you're feeling these days.  Do you think you're back to 100% or do you think you'll have long lasting effects?  Just curious.  Hang in there, bro.
