Out my front door...

This mama moose was browsing on buck brush just a few minutes ago when my husband looked out the living room window and spotted her.
"Hmm, there's a moose out front." he says.

I just love these gigantic herbivores!

She took a few more steps and discovered the hips still at the top of the rugosas.

I have to exercise early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I'm doing.

Amazing. How often does that happen where you live?

It's fairly frequent in the winter. You can expect to see one every few days around the area, and weekly or so on the property.
We get them occasionally in the summer too, but they usually hang out more in the mountains then.

Re: Out my front door...

COOL, I have a fascination with Moose and have many plush, ceramic, wood, prints, etc... in my home. It all started with a chance encounter on a Boundry Waters Canoe trip years ago smile

Re: Out my front door...

How neat.  Do they chew up your garden in the summer?

Re: Out my front door...

Is it okay to also wonder . .

. what she would taste like . .

. roasted under shallots & rosemary?

Steve
funny how that thought didn't occur to me at all while looking at Wendy's salamander . . .

Re: Out my front door...

Aww digitS and Ridgeback! She's a guest!
But I admit to wondering how a moose barbeque would taste  when the mama with twins came for a pepper buffet last summer!

Carol Dee, I love that moose print on your mantle. smile
