i don't thiknk you went overboard . i have a female black and tan german sheppard "Share" she hass killed her fair share of chickens that are lose in the yard by playing with them also. i give her the same treatment whan she does that you do . and she has what seems like lost intrest in them ...
2/6/13 planted , various kinds of lettace, peas, broccoli, carrots, collard's , onions, and red and green cabbage, ( the chickens love the red cabbage) . now comon good friday and the rest is going in the ground. im anxious to see what actually grows it is kinda early i'm told . :cool:

the wife is making gifts in canning jars also, perhaps trail mix , pecans from our tree , dehidrated apples from our tree , jerkey from a deer i harvested from our land and things like that , the thought of making it ourselves is really neat. and very inexpensive.

7 more quarts of pickels, that makes 42 so far. this year i had a great crop of cukes. my GF has been selling the pickesl for $6.00 a piece. even made our own labels for the jars.
