So did anyone get pictures of the blood-moon eclipse?

I woke up at 1am, which I think was supposed to be the end of the eclipse here.

Remembering that the Weather Service said that the sky cover should be 87%, went back to sleep.

With my camera, I have trouble getting a picture of the moon when it is full ! DW's camera should do a better job. I'd still have to contend with all the powerlines around here! Keeps me from taking sunrise/sunset pictures, too :\.

Steve
This one should have been easier to photograph, since the brightness is what gives the problem and this moon wouldn't have been as bright, would have been like if you had put a filter on your camera. I think the news said there are several (4) more coming over the year, so maybe we'll get another shot at it.

(That is "Next" if your digitS' have trouble on the touch screen.) . . . will be the lunar eclipse of October 8.

Now, however, is the time to set your sundial (link).

Decided if I was awake at that hour to go have a look. (Been too many sleepless nights with this cough.) :( But as luck would have it I was sleeping soundly and missed it. Good anyway as I would have to get up for work at 5:00 a.m.

And I was just wondering how to set a sundial too Steve, thanks!

I brought 3 little ones home from moms garden, thinking of setting them in my little picket garden...
I'm sure this connects somehow to lunar eclipses. :p (what happened to our little yellow guy? I don't like this pink one)

I didn't even try to get up. The next day I heard someone saying it was part of a prophecy. Any one know what this is supposed to be about?
There are many prophecies connected to the changes of the "celestial bodies" (moon, sun, stars, planets, ect.) for many different religions, on nat geo, and some other sites I look at they had lots of articles about what this "blood moon" meant/means and prophecies connected to it. So depending on the religion it could have been just about anything, from the end of the world to, bad luck/or a treasonous being in power, to a space jaguar attacking the moon and everything in between.

I think it's a sign of a treasonous person being in power (kind of depends on your political views), either that or a space jaguar is attacking the moon. ;)

I think that So Lucky might have been talking to a very special breed of person - a nutjob, nut for short. Some folks also call them loons or fruitcakes.

A sign is a sign of whatever the person the sign is given to thinks it's a sign of.

So lucky, Of course I know and it is important that you know as well. There was a recent alignment of three planets, now followed by this, the first of three blood moons all in one year. These celestial signs are said to be omens, part one and two of three unusual astronomical occurrences related to a prophesied event to come in the near future.

Sigh, that's all I know other than it's nearly time to get planting despite the cold and wind we have outside right now. Ho-hum, predicting the future is so much easier after the fact. Ever read the book "Eighty-Eight Reasons the World Will End in 1988"? Now those eighty-eight predictions were on the money right up until 11:59 p.m. New Year's Eve of 1988 when the whole thesis fell apart. I suspect the remaining books were recycled in someone's outhouse where they were put to good use.
