My poor roo has been limping around for about a week with two swollen feet. There seems to be a large bump on both of his ankles, and now his toes are starting to swell too. I don't see any cuts that would indicate bumblefoot (and it seemed odd because both feet are swollen). Any ideas what it could be? He's eating and drinking normally, but mainly just sitting around because it obviously hurts him to walk. Should I cage him up for a little while and see if the swelling goes down?

I read that big birds can damage their feet jumping down from a perch. I think they were referring to bumble foot. If you don't separate him the others will hurt him as he gets weaker.

I would separate him and watch him closely. Maybe even start treatment for bumble foot. Hope he gets better!

Strange...you don't see anything on the bottom of his feet? If possible, I would separate or bring him in. I am amazed what chickens can recover from...

The skin on his legs looks pretty good. I did the soak & gave him some baby aspirin & made some amoxicillin sprinkles for his food (according to the internet, amoxil is an OK antibiotic for chickens! Who knew?) He's much perkier & has been moving around more & even crowed this morning! But his feet are still pretty swollen. Not sure what to do for that, but I do like that he seems to be hurting less.

Glad he seems a little better...very puzzling problem. Hopefully, you will figure it out!
