secuono, I was trying not to post so that I wouldn't hijack your thread. But since you commented, yes chickens like to peck at red things. I used to wear red rain boots when I cleaned the coop and they were always pecking them.

I figured that since I completely derailed this thread, I should at least post a pict of the shelter.

SUPER easy to build and so far (30mph winds last night) pretty sturdy.
Thanks yall for all the help.

Mmk, so the panel greenhouse turned into an Aframe wood structure. Then my ram decided to use it as a scratching post and it fell apart, clearly I shouldn't be making houses!! lol
Put it back together and added bracing, kinda looks like a post hurricane structure now, but more sturdy.
I keep forgetting to buy more plastic, going to need more foam, too. Got a roll of ducktape, though. Really need to get it done, want to move my willows outside already!

Don't feel bad, my greenhouse effort is a PVC frame that I duct tape plastic on in the fall. It utterly failed in the snow and ice storms we had this year, as it was not designed for such extremes. Oh well. You do what you can with what you've got and just go with it.

I learned my lesson about my construction abilities when I attempted to make a garden bench. HAHAHA, it was disasterous, everyone, including me, was terrified to sit on it!! Part (most) of my problem is...know how I have that aversion to MEASURING things, like when cooking? Yeah...that doesn't work so well for BUILDING.

My rabbit hutches survived being dragged, flipped and tossed over a fence and across the yard...But a simple Aframe....impossible. lol

Got the plastic up. More of a hothouse than greenhouse...oh well.
There's a small triangle window in the back. Need to put together the front door flaps and tie it all down so it doesn't blow away. Then redo the rabbit poo in there, add sand, dirt, peat and mix it all up.

For crying out loud! Sometimes you just can't win! Who needs a greenhouse, anyway?
