I just looked it up, and I'm definitely going to add that one to my collection! It's hardy! It's fragrant! It blooms for a couple of months!

Clematis grows wild here, we call it Maypop. But the pictures of all the different varieties I see here on TEG are beautiful. The first one my grandpa ever showed me was breath taking. It didn't even look real, it was so pretty. I found this pic on the net, looks close to the wild ones we have here. Are they a wild flower where you live?

Looking around on the net, it goes by passion flower more than anything else. But I also see it called all of the above....... looks like there is confusion. My favorite term for it is Maypop. :idunno

Yeah, another example of our confusing common names.
It's easy to understand what we mean regionally, but outside that, sometimes our names are for completely different plants.
( like beargrass ;) ) Passion vine is in the passiflora family,
clematis is in the ranunculus family.

Wow bay you have passion vine growing wild!! Here it is a very costly potted plant. I do have a wild clematis growing in the woods at country house, but it is nothing like the ones for garden. Small blue flower, mostly leaves.
