Wow bay you have passion vine growing wild!! Here it is a very costly potted plant. I do have a wild clematis growing in the woods at country house, but it is nothing like the ones for garden. Small blue flower, mostly leaves.
They grow wild here. I had some last year in the overgrown pasture, but got it mowed this spring. I'll go look and see if it came back and if I can lay hands on some seed pods. Maybe I need to plant one on the property we are buying... They can actually be a nuisance here, growing on fences and vining everywhere. But I think they are beautiful, the seed pod is supposed to be edible, but have not embarked on that culinary journey. Would you like seed if I get my grubby hands on some?

Hey @Nyboy! Guess what? I stopped by my favorite nursery yesterday to line up some plants for a client and figured I'd check the shade house where they keep the clems just for grins.

I walk in and the very first clematis I see is Sweet Summer Love!
It had it's little arms held out waiting for me to pick it up....

When I was paying one of the nursery employees walks in and said, "Oh, I guess I'm too late, I was going to buy that one. It's the last one we have." Whew! I nearly missed it!

I'm so excited! Now I have to figure out where to plant it.
Something may be getting bumped out of the way....:D

Thistle, good thing you jumped on it. Many times I hesitate thinking it's an impulse buy and then I regret it. It think it was meant to be!
