I really like using an old school bus as a root cellar. Totally awesome!!!
The picture shown has the roof of the bus showing. I would think it would be hotter inside. If I were doing that, I would seal it with a cool seal roof treatment and then put as much dirt as I thought the roof would hold up. Oh, and put a heat barrier like what goes under tin roofs, but put it on the inside of the bus roof. What are your ideas? And do you have access to an old bus or shipping container?

How sad! I'm sorry baymule! My tomatoes havent been staked.... We are not canning any tomatoes this year....still have plenty from last year. I do have green beans ready for canning this weekend. And corn will be ready in about 3 weeks.

Thanks @dewdropsinwv !! The brown dying vines came early this year. The hard part will be not having a fall garden this year, because we'll be moving. Isn't it funny how some years you have so much of something, that the next year, you still have plenty?

I'm glad I dont have to can a lot away this year.... but next year we will be doing the full canning thing. Not sure about our corn, hope we get enough to last until next year, but it doesnt look good.
