Everything is breaking at a time when we don't need to spend money on it. The lender feels like the GESTAPO, poking their nose in all our business and wanting bank statements, paycheck stubs, 2 years of tax returns, credit report, 2 quarts of blood, our first born child for sacrifice to the Lender Goddess, proof that we aren't aliens from planet Nopesos, and they will run another credit report right before closing. But DH and I have several bank accounts, so we are paying out of the one that we didn't give them statements on.

Us too. We have laid out thousands on stupid broken stuff that could have waited until we weren't so stressed over trying to pull all this together to get this house and land bought. Gheesh.

You heard about that mortgage banker who died, didn't you Bay'? St Peter met him at the gate and told him that as a mortgage banker he'd helped a lot of people get homes but he mostly just seemed to be out for #1.

"We don't know how well you will fit in around here. So, I will take you on a tour of both Heaven and Hell and you can help us decide." St Peter said.

Well, the banker liked the mansions and the gold pavement but the harps and singing got on his nerves ...

They went off to Hell and everyone was on the golf course or sitting around the pool!

"What is it going to be?" St Peter asks.

The banker is unsure and says, "I need some time to think about this. Let me sleep on it."

"Okay. I will be here in the morning for your answer."

The next morning, the banker hurries off to tell St Peter. "I choose Hell. Yes! That's the place for me!"

"Very well." And, the gates of Hell open and it is as we imagine! Horrible! Nasty! Wretched!

The banker turns to St Peter, "Wait a minute! This isn't anything like what I saw yesterday with everyone having a good time and doing whatever they wanted to do!"

"Well," says St Peter, "you should have closed yesterday."

oh Bay...I feel for you!! I have been through a couple of situations like that.....but at least when I was younger and had more energy and stamina. I wouldn't want to try to tackle that now.

Hopefully.....it'll all end soon, your house will be fresh and repaired, the a/c gods will smile on you...and you can enjoy your new property!

Oh, I forgot.....the credit report brings up all of your bank accounts.

Oh Bay! I have nothing clever to offer - but you have my sympathy. Buying a house is NEVER a smooth process but you've definately had more than your share of bumps!
