Ridgerunner, I love Hillbilly. I make a goat cheese tart with it and it looks so pretty! Very tasty too!

@Ridgerunner, I am totally drooling right now. Those Hillbilly are as beautiful as they are tasty when you slice them. The Chocolate Stripes look good too!

I haven't grown Hillbilly for a few years. Back before I started saving seed, unfortunately. I've got Mr. Stripey this year though, a bit similar. Gonna be a couple more weeks before I get to savor one of them though. *sigh*

When the 'roma-hill' finally starts to ripen, I'm going to be over run!!!

I've only gotten one ripe tomato so far. It was a little Juliet. My plants are totally loaded with fruit but they just aren't ripening. It's been a poor year for peppers, cucumbers, and peas unfortunately. Not super impressed with my garden either. I've stayed on top of the weeds for the most part thank goodness. I have been devoting a lot more of my time to the new flock of ducks, all the meat birds, and the 2 broody hens. Hopefully I will have ripe 'maters soon!

Mine are all burned/blighted up except for 3 Tommy Toe vines and they will probably not last through August. Just once, I would like to have tomatoes last all summer. At least where we are moving to, I'll have room to stagger plantings.

Will the climate be just a bit less steamy farther north where you are moving? I know in MN, 4 hours north can make quite a difference.

Perhaps from stress on my plants (?) I have brought in quite a few ripe toms already. About a dozen plus these I picked yesterday, along with a few that fell off. Many weeks of rain have brought the black spot on fast and furious, poor plants. I thought about just letting them go, but there is still a lot of production going on. So I cleaned them up, (they look like palm trees with fruit ), and hope for happier tomato weather in August.

Mostly early girls (smaller than normal) and big beef. Dh likes the Umberto (large cherry). It has been VERY productive, more than 50 so far, and it seems to be more tolerant of the black spot than other cherry plants.

I am having the same problems with too much rain and disease. I've got a lot of Early Blight and Septoria Leaf Spot in mine and blossom end rot on the newer fruits (pulling them off and tossing them left and right). My tomatoes, though loaded with green fruits, look very sad this year and I can't wait for them to ripen so I can just go ahead and pull them up.

Umberto ..? I read the description of them in Totally Tomatoes. They look good!

I also like a bigger cherry. Sweet Chelsea is in my garden again this year. I'm looking forward to those ripening!

We are late with red tomatoes this year. I am getting a few Steak types and cherries. Next week I'm sure I will be wondering why I planted so many.
I have a new cherry form Johnney's selected seed called Sunpeach. It has lovely grape like clusters and it is as sweet as CANDY!!! I highly recommend it.

Boy Cane, when those get ripe your going to be eating lots of sandwiches! They look good!

...I was just wondering though...are you actually chained to your garden?...
