I always tip in cash. Mary my sister used to put a zero because she tipped in cash, manger going over the nights bills would only see zero. Writing cash tells manger tip was given (good service)

I guess you have to decide what you are going to order and then do the math from there? It might get a little hard when there are more than 2 of you.

Not really seedcorn. We've been to this certain restuarant before so we had a groupon and decided to go there last week. It's usually my husband and I but since it was his birthday, we invited our son and daughter to come along. I was still surprised when the bill was $150 even after the groupon. I would not have known how much to tip if I had to do it before I saw the bill.

He usually gives them $10 or $20 up front and tell them there's more to come, he likes service and that's to let them know that he won't run them to death and not leave them a tip. Then he asks for more napkins, lemons, ice.........
