I just went to BYC and the forums are inaccessible. I can open the web site, open forums, but when I click on a forum to open it I get

unable to create a cache directory (/data/huddle/backyardchickens.com/collateral/twig/c1/b3).

There seems to be a problem.

We're sorry, but there's been an error in our system, and we can't complete your request. Please report this error to us, using our feedback system. Thanks!

When I click on feedback system, I get the same notice. if this is just me, I'll deal with it, but if it is site wide, there are a lot of freaked out people!

I got in... :hu I did notice the Forum tab isn't automatically pulling down when you hover over it...at least I seem to remember that it did. I haven't been on BYC for awhile.

ETA: Well, actually, I can only get into the Feeding and Watering your flock forum so far. A couple of others I clicked on I got the same message you did. Not sure if there are any others that will let me in...just that one so far.

ETA2: Now they're all letting me in. How about you?

@bobm, have you tried going into the controls for your computer and checking the "uninstall or change a program" icon? You can see if any sneaky programs have installed themselves on your computer in the last week or so, as the items are dated. Maybe it's as simple as removing something that was surreptitiously installed.
A search program that lead to nowhere got installed on mine, that would override google. I just had to uninstall it, once I realized what was going on.

I talked to my son by phone last night . He talked me through a complete overhaul of erasing everything on my computer. Seems that Comcast installed a program at the time several weeks ago when we had problems with their service, as well as a couple days ago when someone else ? that made my computer SNAFU , then re-install the Microsoft program. Works great for now , I HOPE ! :caf

Every time I try to open Easy Garden I get this message; "
Maintenance
We're doing some updates to the site. Please check back a bit later.

In the meantime, please visit our sister sites:

www.BackYardHerd.com

www.SufficientSelf.com"

???????????????????

Got a fix?

That's the same message I got when they very first switched over to the new system. Do you happen to have the site bookmarked to a page other than the main page? Redo your bookmark and clear your cookies. That should fix it. How did you get this post through anyway?
