Sweetpea did her reliable broody thing again, and despite me swiping the eggs from her every time I found her little secret, she persisted and laid them under the pallet I use for the coop steps where I couldn't get to them without dismantling things. I figured she deserved to keep them at that point.

She hatched them out last Saturday, the same day my sis and family arrived for a visit. Yes, she knows how to get top billing!

My first thought was that Sweetpea was the moose in the avatar photo. Really threw me for a loop when you started egg stealing from the "reliable" moose mother. It wasn't until the moose started hiding under the pallet that I straightened my head, uncrossed my eyes, and read the post again. Congrats!

How wonderful! They all look so happy! I look forward to the day that I can have chickens that have never traveled in the mail truck!
