I'm actually tagging Joe Pye weed all over the pastures so I can dig up and send to Nyboy in the fall. Since there seems to be a mess of it this year, I'll probably stick a few up closer to the yard adn see how they do.

blury picts.....
purple head of tiny blooms - tall! - wide, sawtooth leaf edges - pretty (for a "weed")

Is THAT what it's called? That stuff is rampant here. I've not been able to find out what it's called - but it's HARD to get rid of. In that pict, it's actuall a good ways from the JPW. But it's also almost in the creek bed, so that's not where I'm digging anyway.

It is everywhere. Kill the main stem, roots will send up 2-10 shoots to make up for it. It's the plant world version of hydra. I think that was the name of mythological beast.

That doesn't look like a weed at all. I wonder if it would do well in my area. I would love that instead of the borage. The borage has those little needles that I hate, always scratching me.
