No Bees

My Blueberry bushes, "tumbelina " dwarf type lavender, as well as Thymus serphllum 'coccineus' groudcover stepable thyme that grows an inch tall + about another inch in flower stalks, are all completely covered with all manner of types of bees for weeks on end. :celebrate

Thanks Carol, I like the fact that they have a couple that are only 2 ft. tall.

Cane, you have some joe pie weed? How tall is it? I thought you said you didn't have bees?

All of 'mine' is out in the fields. Where ever the creek comes near the fence line - or up by the road where the power line easement is. It gets about 4-5' tall. I don't have any in the yard because I always thought it was 'just one of those pasture weeds' that I spend so much time mowing and hating. The stuff grows wild EVERYWHERE here. Every open, neglected field that has a good supply of water has them this time of year.
I have a few bees visit, but I'd love to create a garden area that just buzzes and flitters with bees and butterflies.

I'd also put out a water source with gravel or marbles in it as stopping place for them too.

Plus having caterpillar food sources too would be fun to add to the mix. It's on my list of things I want to do. Besides gives me another excuse to plan a flower bed.
