I am originally from California. Growing up the sound of yucca whispering together in the wind, the smokey summer smell of brush fires, and the fact that we disguise our cell-phone towers to look like palm trees are fond memories of home.

I moved to Washington to be with my husband, and found that I loved it even more. The coffee culture, the fact that I can farm and garden to my hearts content, the fact that there are 4 seasons, and of course...I am one of the few people in the world that LOVES rain :D

Next stop will be WV, fireflies and yet more farming. WOO!

Born and raised in Virginia, mainly the upper half of the state. Couldn't really imagine living anywhere else.
Have visited many States around the east coast, been to Poland and to the Canadian border. Haven't been out west, very dry and open land, drastically different from what I'm used to. Might be fun to visit, but I don't think I could adjust to life out there nor in any other country. I'd miss my slice of green calm and familiarity too much. Maybe one day if/when I give up on any kind of farm life.
Many of us think there's two parts of VA, north and south. Anything around Fredericksburg and up is northerners. Anything Richmond and down is southerners. Technically, VA is a northern state, though, many history classes call it a southern state. =/
I also wouldn't travel much more south, might of been born in the dead of summer, but I'm a winter girl through and through. "Much rather freeze to death than boil alive" I always say. Though, I will complain and chatter teeth the whole time, lol.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, off the 128 circle. It was more rural then, -we had a big yard with fields and woods behind us.

Went to college in Maine, and never looked back. Sometimes the winter seems long, but I can't imagine leaving this place. DH is from here, growing up in the same house his mother grew up in. We have to sell that house, now that his folks have passed, but we don't want to live there, in the "big city" of Waterville.
