Thank you @Smart Red and @ninnymary no big deal. I wasn't paying attention and serves me right. If I didn't do something foolish here Id just do it elsewhere ;)

I still would guess Sumi's avatar is a Dick Clark rose bloom but it's just a guess.

@Jared77 I must confess I don't know. DH said it's a hybrid tea rose, but he doesn't know the name either. I must take some pics of them, they are so beautiful at the moment, but this week so far was paved with good intentions and very little action LOL

It's fun to see everyone's favorites! Makes me wish I lived in a warmer climate, so I could grow more kinds of roses. Most of David Austin roses are supposed to be hardy to my zone (borderline zone 4/3), but I worry that one harsh winter would take out roses that I know I'd just totally fall in love with head over heels.

That said, I sort of look for hardy cultivars of the native types to try. Some are really pretty and fragrant, and of course tough as nails. But my very favorite is the good old Rosa rugosa. There's a redder one out now. So pretty. And I don't mind when the deer stop by to snack on them. I have drifts of them planted as the foreground to an establishing tree windbreak to help alleviate north winds and they're thriving in that application. The best part is I don't have to think much about them. I do prune out dead wood and such but I've given them run of some open property and they're doing great.
