About Two Issues:

Foremost, there may be some confusion about Profile Posts. They are NOT Private Messages (PM's). When you post your messages on them - yes, the TEG member is notified and can read them. However --- Profile posts are public --- anyone can read them.

If you post your mailing address, it is not the same as sending someone a PM. It is public.

My other concern is a very minor one. When someone registers for TEG and includes a website along with a catchy username, the username shows up in pop-up windows as we are tagging others. An example is that if I want to tag @BeingBright , I get to "@B.E.I" and @BeingBright pops up but so does @BeingWired! Curious, a few more clicks and ... I've bought a vintage Walkman ..!!

Steve ;)

There are a lot of things I don't put on my profile page, birthdate, sex, and certainly not my SS#, phone #, or address. I don't see that any of those are relevant for others to know. People in Russia are watching!

I've never noticed that when I tag someone, but I don't tag others a lot. I try to stick with our nicknames for each other as much as I can. It just seems more friendly. But occasionally I want someone specific to see a post so I will tag them.

Great points Steve! I'll noodle on this a bit to see if there are ways we can make things better on our side.

i know this is an old thread but this morning i got an unusual spam email that filtered through to my inbox instead of the spam folder they should go to. i happened to notice that it said my email address and then my TEG sign in name Chickie'sMomaInNH. seems to think i'm in Texas and it was from Scout Hotlist.

guess i'll be removing my email address from those area's i can find it listed in my profile just as a precaution.

Can you copy / paste all the info, text, etc. in that email (including the address it came from) into a PM to me?
