So, my young tree was hit hard by hail in early may, but what really upset me was the squirrel that bit off bud that FINALLY came out in July.

So, thinking it wasn't going to survive I hacksawed, germinated and planted five new seeds. Guess what happened the next night.... Mr. Squirrel dug up each damn one. I found two (!!) empty shells in a nearby pepper plant, but nothing else. Two weeks later I'm watering my Brandywine tomatoes and I see a sprout coming out of my mulch where a squirrel had obviously dug a hole before, and it was absolutely a KCT sprout. It gave me a huge smile, a huge laugh and put my frustration with the squirrel in flux.

The old sapling is still pushing through, but I'll post a pic of the new guy as well :)
