Eastern Black Swallowtail butterflies lay eggs on my dill and parsley. Those beautiful striped caterpillars can eat a lot but I just let them go. I grow the dill or the heads for pickles and those caterpillars don't hurt that production. On the parsley, I plant enough so I get enough.

I always have lots of caterpillars on the parsley, but it seems they disappear over the course of the summer. I guess birds get them? I wish they could stay and pupate.
