I did the same thing! I bought about 8 of them, mostly because I wanted the white ceramic pots they came in, so my kids can paint them. Kinda wish I had bought more, LOL. I've been starting one each week just so I can have some color to cheer me up. If yours are the same as mine, your red one should be called "Red Lion".

I bought one from Tuesday Morning...It did bloom, but the stem was very short. Not a very good showing, but it was colorful and alive....so I guess I won't complain! Yours is a beauty!

Once again I am growing my red Amaryllis. Not "pretty Amaryllis", but my plant. Perhaps, I'll brave the sun room tomorrow and take a shot of mine amid the piles of split firewood DH has out there.

Beautiful specimen, Gumbygardener.

I received a potted on for Christmas. FedEx left it hidden on my porch. It was one COLD potted plant/bulbs when I brought it in. I followed directions and hoped for the best. So far I have some LONG green leaves which want to fall over so I have then propped up. Still not seeing any sign of a flower stem or bud.

I sure hope my amaryllis is well enough to shoot tomorrow. I just went to return the sun room heater (used in the bathroom and computer room today) and found one of my grandchildren -- or son -- left the outside door open after they toted firewood from the gully to the house. The sunroom thermometer read 22 degrees. NOT good!

I will stay warm with the firewood, but I can't see if or what damage there might be to the plants in the sun room until morning. It is hard to be all that angry when they did so much work getting the split wood in and stacked. The plants can be replaced if necessary. The family is priceless.
