I have been having some problems with postings ... and, nearly a month (or, forever) Comcast problems.

This morning, our new quote feature wouldn't work. Even clicking "reply" just took me to a blank message box.

Often, I must type out an entire TEG member's name after the @ . It's okay but I have to struggle to remember if lavender is spelled with 2 a's and an e or 2 e's and an a .. ;).

Yesterday, I had to delete 2 out of 3 duplicate posts. Those problems used to happen often with my old PC but like never with the tablet.

What's goin' on? I'm willing to blame Xfinity, if I knew how to pronounce it other than Comcast!

I reported it Steve so hopefully Nifty or a moderator will check it out.

The only thing I've found different lately is that when I open up the "threads" page the horizontal list of options does not contain all five normal options but only three of them and a few ..... It normally only takes a couple of seconds for all five options to show up, but my favorite option "new posts" is at the end of the first three. If I'm too impatient to wait for that field to expand I wind up going to "watched forums". I suspect there have been some updates in my software that has slowed this down a bit.

I have not had any of the problems you mentioned though I don't use a lot of the features offered on here very much. I suspect it is device or software related but hopefully Nifty and the gang can help you out.

Thanks @Ridgerunner!

Steve, have you tried clearing your cache to see if that helps? I found with mine (Safari) I have to clear it over and over and over to get all the cookies out, then I restart my computer and the bugs are gone.

If that doesn't help can you give us all your tech info, browser, version, etc. Then @Nifty can look into it.

Thank you, @sumi . This has a silk browser but as you can see, the quote/reply is right back in business.

I'm thinking it's the internet (dis)service provider. Webpages often fail to load so I think what is happening is the function fails to load and times out. It just isn't as obvious as the entire page failing.

I also had ??? service with comcast not to mention a huge increase in their price ( from $ 150 / month for land line phone ( we also have cell phones ) , internet and TV to $ 192/ mo. with NO notice ) so I FIRED them and got Dish satelite service. Cost now is $ 54 / month for internet and TV. Much better , especially in the wallet. :thumbsup

I've been digging around and don't see anything out of the ordinary, but will keep an eye open for problems.

If anybody else has similar problems, please see the information here (most of the info applies to here too): http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/troubleshooting-byc-problems-bugs-error-messages-other-issues

If none of those things help, please come back to this post and reply with all the information requested in that article, especially:

1) Which browser and version are you using (eg., Firefox 3.5.9, Internet Explorer 7, etc.)
2) Have you deleted your internet cache / browser history of files and tried again?
3) Have you tried a different browser? This allows you to test if it is a browser specific problem vs. a computer / network problem. We suggest Google Chrome or Firefox.

I actually have this problem too. I am using firefox. It works but you have to type the whole name out before getting a suggestion.
