i think most people here now wear their seatbelts. i've seen lots of people who get over the border into NH and pull over to take their helmets off. i never see them get over the border and take their seatbelts off.
Yes, sort of, @seedcorn. Laws are passed by legislatures who are greatly $$ influenced $$ by insurance companies and their lobbyists. For obvious reasons, insurance companies are concerned primarily if our care after an accident is expensive or slight. The Government says it cares because the cost of higher medical bills and higher insurance affects all the rest of us.
