Wow, Ridge. You nailed it! How did you find it?

Have not heard from @sumi for conformation that this is actually it. She'll needs to check bark, leaves, size and all that.

Google is your friend. I tried something like "Ireland trees with red flowers" and that is one of many that came up. More luck than anything.

@baymule I found a suitable rental, but it's under renovation at the moment. I'm waiting and hoping it will be ready next weekend, when I have to move out of the short-term rental we found.

@Ridgerunner I've been flat out this week and didn't look any further for info except I asked my landlady and she couldn't remember the name of the tree. But she told me which garden centre she bought it at and I'm planning to go there with some of the flowers and ask them. And see if they have a tree in stock while I'm at it ;)

I found it!! :) Chilean Lantern Tree, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crinodendron_hookerianum @Ridgerunner

I took a small piece with some blooms and leaves on to the garden centre that this one came from. They were sold out :( But they will restock "sooner rather than later"

@Nyboy I'm going to plant this one at the rental house. If it will be happy in a container for up to 2 years, I'll go that route, otherwise in the ground and lucky landlord :) I told him I'd like to plant a garden there, the house needs one. I will take some pics of the area and update you all when I move in and start digging.

I did nearly the same thing, but didn't get even close to a match. Good detectiving!
