Your corn is beautiful. No corn for me yet this year. I don't buy it unless I've put forth the effort to grow some myself. I didn't this year. Besides, starchy veggies are no no's right now.

Someone tell me that eating corn right out in the field while it is just picked means no starch, just sugar. I think I could do veggie sugar.
Um Red... all sugar comes from plants. :idunno

Yah, yah, yah! I know. Bet you were a real pain in school.

No, bobm, I meant I could do corn sugar, but not corn starch. Actually, I also know all food is turned into sugars for the body to utilize. I guess that means no corn this summer. Eat a few ears for me, bobm.

Yup ! As a Freshman in College I called out a Biology Professor on a genetics inheritance issue that he said was NOT possible. I proved him wrong in front of the class on his blackboard. He couln't errase it fast enough. Damage done. I dropped that class as it was obvious that I wouldn't get a passing grade. Also, while still a freshman in College, I had an upper caste Veterinary graduate student from India that had his man servant do all of the physical work for him. He tried to tell me to do some of his physical work for him , I told him off in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS that he has to do it himself. He whent to the chairman of his department to have me fired , but instead I reseaved a comendation and a raise as I was the only one that dared to stand up to him. His professors were scared to say anything to him when he ordered his man servant to do all physical work for him. Nah Red ! you can eat all of the corn that your heart desires. You see , since I am a diabetic and the carbs are turned into simple sugars my blood glucose levels skyrocket so go ahead and help yourself. :)

Monday while we were gone to town, the contractors that are clearing the electric line right of ways around here brought us another load of mulch. We were sorry that we were gone, as DH likes to tip them for their kindness to us.

Right now, we have the hay ring in the barn. The horses are doing a fine job of wasting the hay, dropping it, stepping all over it, peeing and pooping on it. The next round bale will go back outside and we will put a deep layer of wood chip mulch in the barn for the winter. We'll let the horses mix poop and chips for us!
