Haha! ( I can tell you're working up some new material for your next "business" trip).

It's just theoretical, I've never had them along and they aren't even stalled together. I'm just guessing that they would walk under.
They're definitely short enough...

How about this one, DH just sent this one to my computer so thought I would share

A Spanish language teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine.

"House" for instance, is feminine: "la casa."
"Pencil," however, is masculine: "el lapiz."

A student asked, "What gender is 'Computer'?"

Instead of giving the answer, the teacher divided the class into two groups, Male and Female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether "Computer" should be a masculine or a feminine noun.
Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation.

The men's group decided that "Computer" should definitely be of the feminine gender ("la computadora"), because:

1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic;


2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;


3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval; and


4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your pay to buy accessories for it.

(THIS GETS BETTER!)


The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be masculine ("el computador"), because:



1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on;

2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves;


3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and


4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have got a better model.


The women won.

"They" always suggest it won't last. Don't you just love it when you can prove them wrong!

Clayton was told he was making a big mistake getting married to me. My side thought he was too old for me.

It was a far, far greater leap of faith for him to commit than it was for me 'cuz I knew me better -- too stubborn to let life come between us and too determined to make our marriage work.

Life has its ups and downs, but I am satisfied with the knowledge that for 47 years I made him happy.

Congrats Aftermidnight. I just love it when I hear of marriages lasting.

@Smart Red , age has nothing to do with it, when you find the real deal, nothing and I mean nothing else matters. We were just 18 when we met and married 6 months later. As you say life has it's ups and downs but this has been the best 60 years of my life. You and I can count ourselves very lucky.

I agree on the age difference. My wife is several years younger than me, I accuse her of marrying someone older so she will always look young by comparison. She usually doesn't hit me when I say that. Not that she needs help, she always looks great and always will to me. Looks are not why I married her anyway, it's just a nice additional benefit.

Annette, I wonder if the boys would have won if the teacher had been male? Just wondering.

@majorcatfish Agree as the female points 2 & 3 are definetly inaccurate. It was rigged from start.....

Face it ladies, the males had better points.

My first presumption is that the students are in high school rather than taking adult improvement classes in Spanish. Any other scenario would invalidate my response.

With that caveat in mind, I have issues with both gender responses. The males' #4 are incorrect. Purchasing more goodies to go with a computer is a choice not a necessity.

The females' response #4 is far more correct, but again it is a matter of choice and unlike new computers that are constantly being improved with specific goals in mind, there is no guarantee that the next male to come along IS the better model. Their statements for 1-3 were definitely flawed sexist generalizations based upon information they'd heard elsewhere. They certainly wouldn't be old enough to have made those generalizations first hand.

All in all, I believe the males had the better reasoning. Of course, logic and language often have little in common. Computer is computadora -- a female gender word in Spanish.

That is correct @Smart Red computadora is the correct and it is in the feminine..
