How far is your weekend home from your home in the city?
There are several roads. If the shortest way, then it is 55 miles. But in bad weather this difficult road. Then we go to the detour. It's a few extra miles. If the cars on the road a little, by the time the trip takes about 2 hours. If many machines, we go all 4:00.
My hydrangeas, from September to October.

I rarely think about the weather being a problem on driving, we just don't get much snow here. When we do, people are idiots because we don't know how to drive on the stuff. DH and I stay home and let the idiots have at it.

Rain is more of a problem than snow/ice. We get flash floods and some of the roads go under water, sometimes roads wash out. We have never had a problem getting out if we need to go somewhere.

Traffic can drive us nuts, everybody is crazy. People drive fast, slow and text on phones and weave on the road.

We have cold weather. Rain brings with it the first snowflakes. I forgot when I saw the sun for the last time. Autumn was cold even for us. Therefore, I like to look at photos of the summer. And the flowers in my house!
We were able to spend a holiday together this summer. Children walked half the night and sleep half the morning. My husband got up earlier than everyone. He walked around the garden to find jobs for the sons.

Therefore after breakfast they asked: "Dad, what should we do today?" They were surprised every morning that the Dad finds working for them.
When the sun was hidden behind the forest, and the crickets began to sing their evening song I learned to play the flute Pan.

But no one would appreciate it!

The younger son asked how much money I want to learn to play far into the woods. The eldest son said to me at the train station will give more money. Out of pity. My husband said he would be very busy in the near future. And he will not be able to come to me in prison too often. Psychotropic weapons or torture cats - the reason depends on the neighbors' imagination.
They competed in wit three days. Then I reminded them that the chief on the ship - this is the cook. Which can significantly reduce the menu for them!

Last year, the insect pests attacked the whole willow forest. The infection came on my willow too. She withered, it upset me. But this year, I took an old watering can and put in it a little fragrant pea. It climbed up on it and flowered.

So are you flowers all gone? What is your growing zone?

Blooming perennial asters, marigolds, autumn crocus. Floribunda rose flower not yet frozen. It blooms and buds have. I do not crop buds. I'll cut the spring. Ornamental cabbage leaves under the snow.
I find it difficult to estimate the number of the zone. I guess it does not coincide with your zones. We call the "average band" or "moderate continental climate."

Liatris: I wonder how many plants bloom from the top down ...

But no one would appreciate it!

Larisa, just let them know who writes the house rules.

Pan would never pay any attention to unappreciative types, anyway.

Then, go back to playing your pan pipes.
