Do you believe in the hereafter? Of course. Just this morning I walked into the kitchen and asked my self, "What am I here after?"

Tell me how to collect Garli Chive seeds ?

In my experience garlic chives thrive in either full sun or open shade. They aren't fussy about PH and, after the first year, are drought tolerant. When soil is too dry for growth they have the ability to die at the tops but come back from the bulbs when water becomes available again. In...

    Soil building or soil depletion

Good advice. I always heeded it and I hope others do also. We cannot afford to put any more stress on the bees. Fortunately it dissipates rapidly so if applied in the evening after bees go to bed it will be gone by morning when they are gathering nectar again.

Thanks for reminding me of that one. I got very good results from it. A bit pricy but well worth it.

    Soil building or soil depletion

Soil organisms, both bacteria and funguses, incorporate nitrogen into their bodies and it is released when they die. Since many bacteria have a life measured in hours, that's a pretty fast turnover. Of course we all know that legumes have knots on the roots that offer protection to nitrogen...

Tell me how to collect Garli Chive seeds ?

In many parts of the country regular chives thrive in lawns. You can smell them when you mow. We had a patch of ramps near me in Oklahoma. Those babies will make your eyes cross.

Sure thing. Just go straight ahead and then turn left where they tore down the big red barn that used to be there.

Tell me how to collect Garli Chive seeds ?

Kept in a cool dry place garlic chive seeds can be stored for several years. I used paper bags to store them so they would continue to dry. This avoids molding. They sprout in only a few days. If you want plants faster garlic chives clump so you can dig the clump and split it up.

A Sunday school teacher asked Johnny, "Do you know where Jesus is?" Sure, he answered, "He's in the bathroom with my sister". "What in he world gave you that idea?" "Well, every morning my daddy gets up, bangs on the bathroom door and hollers, Jesus Christ are you still in there?"

    Soil building or soil depletion

On Otay Mesa I had what all the books say is ideal soil. It was originally a rocky sand beach a million or more years ago. You could tell that by all the rocks in it. They were rounded off by tumbling in the waves. The sand was relatively coarse, adding to good drainage and no matter how deep I...

Monsanto did a number on BT when they incorporated it into GMO corn. Many creepy crawlers became immune to it and it is now less effective than it used to be.

    Advice on the Seed Zoo

Interesting bean story is the Apache beans that were found in a desert cave stored in jars. They were estimated to be over 100 years old but they germinated almost 100% when planted. They are now sold under the name of rattlesnake beans because of the snake like markings on the pods. I grew some...

    Elevated bed for herbs

If I decide on chives they will probably be garlic chives. They have a flavor somewhere between regular chives and garlic. In my San Diego garden they died off without water but came back with the first rain. They multiply by clumping so you only have to plant them once. They have very pretty...

Good idea on the lavender. I don't know if there are ay beeks around here but if I grow Spanish lavender I can find out. Bees really swarm Spanish lavender even though they pretty much ignore English lavender. I have a south facing picture window in my room so I can probably put down a plastic...
