    Reading more, and I guess you use decomposed on the bottom, then fresh mixed with compost, hay and other junk over that, then fresh for mounding throughout the season :idunno

    Wide Row Planting

    I do wide row planting with most of my root crops. I get more volume out of the garden that way. Carrots for example this last summer, I did 3 rows per row. I could easily have done 4 rows though.
