Yay! I finally have some time to plant a garden!
I am thinking to dig up one of my 4 X 8 raised beds and put in some late-summer veggies. I am in Zone 5. What do you think?
Awesome map, digitS! It is better than the one in my master gardener book. I like April 22 MUCH better than May 15....that could account for some of my problems.

They make such pretty lawn ornaments, I hate to pen them up. Other people in the area have both chickens and grass. How can I solve this dilemma and save my marriage?

We have 3 cats who use cheap clay litter, and 2 guinea pigs who are using straw on top of pine shavings. Can I use their poop for compost in my flower beds? Hubs wouldn't eat anything grown with it, regardless of whether it's "safe" or not.
