    Hen & Chicks (Pics added)

I bought some, separated it, planted what I wanted in a container then left the rest in the nursery pot it came in. I kind of forgot about it. Until it bloomed!! The piece I left behind, not even in soil!! Tough plant!!

Identify bug(s) and give me the method for annihilation please

Cucmber beetle? I'm trying to identify something on my cukes but they're spotted. I've seen lots of pics tonight of something striped like that that's identified as cucumber beetle.

Unfortunately I have no way to find out. Whoever planted those is long gone and the property has been turned over to a local land trust to be left to nature. I'll check out some pictures later to see what it look smore like.

old daffodils not blooming well and pictures of scilla

We went hiking on a newer trail near our house. It used to be a private property and someone once gardened there. I found this! Sorry, it's not a great shot but I only had my cell phone with me. Later this afternoon we walked the dogs to the end of the street and discovered a neighbor has a...

old daffodils not blooming well and pictures of scilla

Hmmm, I was going to guess grape hyacinths because I've had to lay myself down on the lawn in front of DH and his mower almost every year to try to save mine! They came with the house too. Some years I'm successful, some not so much.

old daffodils not blooming well and pictures of scilla

I have an old patch of daffodils that have not bloomed well for a few years. I suspect they need to be dug up and divided. I always think of doing it this time of year when they're so pathetic. But can I divide and replant them now? Should I wait until fall?

Proof that God looks after widow(er)s, orphans & fools

This guy's impatience is what did him in. Rather than spend hours with wedges and come alongs, he tried to take a short cut. It was awful!

Proof that God looks after widow(er)s, orphans & fools

We had a friend who made a bad decision while cutting down a tree. He got his saw stuck in the tree. He decided to use his tractor to pull on the tree and loosen the saw. He is no longer with us. Granted it was the tree, not the saw, that killed him but I admit I'm really nervous any time DH is...
