I've tried growing bay leaf in the past without too much success. Last year I bought a plant in a one gallon size and this year the plant has almost tripled in size. I am so happy with it. :)

Carol, I purposely walk there so that I don't buy anything big that I can't carry home. Of course, in the back of my mind, I know that I can buy a tree and then come back with my car to pick it up! Ha

Three blocks away is extremely dangerous. Do you ever try to justify landscaping based on the fact that you can't have a yard that looks trashy so near a nursery? ;)

Bay Leaf is looking great. Not one I've tried yet though I'd love to :)

Arcane, I already justify having good landscaping by having a preschool at my home. Curb appeal and first impressions are everything.

But I have only so much room for plants, so I go there occasionally not every week. I don't buy much since I don't need much. I just like to go see what's new.
