My wonderful Australorp hen hatched out 9 beautiful Orpington chicks this weekend. She is an excellent mother and much more relaxed than my Black Copper Marans hen that hatched out 2 Andalusians a few weeks ago. Enjoy the cuteness!!!

Oh! So adorable! Hope I can have chicks like that someday. Getting them in the mail, just isn't the same!

Great job, @HotPepperQueen! You have one fine broody hen and a clutch of too-cute fuzzies.

I went out Saturday to find Tres Olivia strutting about with her new (chipmunk-looking) chick. No work, no fuss, and one more chicken for me. Here's hoping we both have all pullets.

I gave my hen her own little house with food and water. She started to get messy with them. She is back on them tonight I do not know how long she got off.

Well they usually leave the nest for about 45 min a day to eat, drink, relieve themselves, and dust bathe. One day this broody hen was off her eggs for about 3 hours which I believe is the limit in warm temperatures.
