Is it too late? I'm in Zone 5/6/7 ish, Salt Lake City, Utah. My irises are encroaching on my gladiolas, and the irises didn't bloom well this year, so I'm thinking of lifting them and replanting them elsewhere, after dividing them. I'm waiting for the glads to finish blooming before I do so. Is it hard to dig and divide irises? Any tips to share? I am worried I may accidentally cut into gladiola corms while digging up the nearby irises? Any good way to prevent this? For instance, if I soak the soil, could I pull the glad corms out by hand, avoiding the glads that are adjacent?
