Flowering/ pretty herbs

I want to make useful planters for people to give as gifts (and to decorate my back porch)

I also want them to look pretty. What useful/edible plants could I plant in small planters. I'm thinking herbs that flower or edible flowers, things like that.

Oh, I just thought of another edible flower. You can eat some viola species like the bright yellow violets. You can eat the leaves and stems too per my foraging book.

There is also wild chamomile. You can eat the flowers and the leaves.
