See hoodat's other pages: direct-seedig; 2010-04-29 I left San Diego about 20 years ago and went to Oklahoma. In many ways I'd rather still be there but I'm back in San Diego now and one big advantage is that San Diego gardening is so much easier. Oklahoma was a constant battle with insects, critters that thought the garden was theirs and HEAT. Over 100degrees for weeks on end. I'm not having an easy go of it. I'm tearing out bermuda sod that has been there for 35 years so it's pretty tough stuff but eating something from the garder 365 days of the year makes it worthwhile. 2010-04-30 Took my morning stroll around the garden and noticed the seeds I planted directly into the garden are popping. Two rows of limas look like they are coming up nicely and my delicata squash is up. Next to get in will be bush wax beans. Bush acorn squash is planted but not showing yet. |
