    How can I know if the seeds are GM?

    I'd like to check out Baker Creek. Thanks for the tip. I had NO luck with Johnny's last year, and I've recently read that many of their seeds come from Monsanto. Like many of you, I'm trying to avoid supporting the GM seed producers.

    Where to buy Sarsaparilla

    I live in Maryland. One time I was taking a hike with a guide, and we could smell that familiar root beer smell as we walked. One of the kids commented on it, and our guide found a nearby tree and scraped a bit of the bark for us to smell. I'm pretty sure the guide told us it was sassafras.

    Why do ALL my pumpkins die every year!?

    What do the vines of your plants look like? Often times, the vines are what cause failure with pumpkins, we've found. Do your plants live all summer, just without any fruit? Or are they dying off around this time?
