Gardening & trying to start a fruit orchard on a half shaded, flood-plain half acre and a mostly shaded rocky forested hillside. We've planted paw paws & are trying for persimmon, quince, apple & pear. We have chickens to garden with & tractor. We have compost & lots of nice rotting stumps to help us.
We have herds of deer to contend with. we're in zone 5b, micro-climate 6a
