i never thought i'd get a chance to share my one and only eggplant recipe,, but here goes! i make little eggplant sammys. digitS' this would be perfect for those round ones you've got.

fontina cheese (this comes mild or sharp) i choose this cuz it melts so well

using herbs as ground cover. this is another great idea. i've been wanting to add a couple of raised beds in the front yard, but have been worried the neighbors would object. if i plant some herbs around the beds, that would help much.

steve, you and i grew up in a similar way. my mother's sister and her husband (aunt louise and uncle bill) managed about 3/4 of their dining requirements by hunting and fishing. the other quarter, i think, was mostly beer :D

i've got a client who brings me small bottles of homemade jellies & jams. i'm not crazy about the flavors, but i love getting those little bottles... they're perfect for samples of my bacon jam, which i share with the neighbors. and i make a killer bacon jam (if i do say so myself) :ya
