    A question about strawberry jar

I highly suggest taking a piece of PVC pipe, cut it the length of your strawberry pot ( alittle bit higher than the intended soil level), cap the bottom end and then drill holes down the sides. Place the pipe into the pot, then fill with soil. The pipe helps to get water down inside the pot and...

What in the World is THIS?

I agree with Ridgerunner about the cooking. If they are really firm like a winter squash, cube them up, toss with olive oil and salt and pepper then roast in a hot oven. If they are more soft fleshed, try a sautee with some garlic and herbs, then top with some freshly grated parm.

Yellow medium to large tomato recommendations

Think it is great to share notes, I have enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts. For me, no garden is complete without Sungold. I am a fanatic about them! I am not fond of Lemon Boy, myself.....pretty color but lacking in flavor. I am trying pineapple again this year. I had limited success with...

    Propagating sweet potato leaves?

I just wanted to update.....my little bunch of SP stems have started growing roots :ya Should begin to expose the vase of leaves to sun or would that be damaging to the roots? I am sure it will be a week maybe two before I can plant them.....how would I begin to harden them off? So far so...

    Propagating sweet potato leaves?

I read on another forum about how someone had purchased some sweet potato leaves from an Asian market, placed some in a vase of water and they sprouted. The person has just panted them and is hoping to grow sweet pots. I can't find SP slips anywhere so I decided to try this. I bought some...

    what to plant together?

I suggest that you do a little research about companion planting. There are some plants that will actually stunt growth when planted together. Here is a link, but there are many more on the web http://www.ghorganics.com/page2.html

Over fertilizing with MG potting mix?

Yes, Pat.....looks like a minor issue as it has not gotten any worse and the new leaves are a nice healthy green. Perhaps it was just the due to the increase in heat? Or most likely a combination of too ,uch fert and the sudden hot sun.

Over fertilizing with MG potting mix?

Thanks for the replies. I guess I need to lighten up on my poor little plants. I think they will pull thru, they are not too bad, just bad enough to catch my attention!

Over fertilizing with MG potting mix?

I think that I have over fertilized my veggies. I have large pots with miracle grow potting soil. On the bag it says it feeds plants for a few months. In all my wisdom I used a diluted organic fertilizer....and now 24 hours I have leathery curled tomato leaves. I also noticed my green beans...
