Thank you Lesa and Cat! We have other sunflowers planted randomly around the yard (first time with those too!) and I planted at different times so our lil man used to go around and see if he was taller than each of them. We still have a few that he is taller than :)

I got our little bronze ones at Big Lots a few months ago for $1 each and I think they look great and are as bright as our other bigger, more expensive ones!

I have been noticing more and more "damage" to the low bark. It looks like sawdust on the ground below it as well. The lower section of branches on the left side are bare but the upper left has wilting leaves. Should I take a saw to the left side of the "Y" at the trunk to remove that whole half...

Sorry if the pic is hard to see but I literally just noticed this 5 minutes ago. The bush (which through previous year postings believe it is a snowball viburnum) comes up as one trunk then splits off to two. The left side is dead! Well, technically it looks to still be in the process of dying...
