    Potatoes in 5 gallon bucket.....................

That is what I need to do a better job of. Thanks for the reminder. Funny how one knows that but then I forget about it when it's so important.

    Potatoes in 5 gallon bucket.....................

Your question is good. Unfortunately my comment was based on others with gardens saying that's their slug control. I didn't ask about the side effects. I do need to do more research. My chickens it's a pain to free range them when the garden going cause if I'm not watching they go to that end...

    Potatoes in 5 gallon bucket.....................

It will sure cut down on my slug problem around here. Once I get my deer fence up I'm going to get a couple ducks in there. If I can wipe out or control the slugs make my life lot easier. Deer & slugs with deer #1 is my main problems. Plus with the fence my chickens can free range more...

    Potatoes in 5 gallon bucket.....................

No, I'm talking about where you drill holes in the bottom of the bucket and use the bucket only. I have plenty of buckets due to my work. Trying to utilize them more to grow in.

    Potatoes in 5 gallon bucket.....................

What has been your experience? How much soil you put in before seed? Any other tips you have? I thought I'd experiment with different soil levels starting them this year. Have great access to lot of 5 gallon buckets. Grew tomatoes in them last year also.

    Freezer Question

If you mean it isn't shutting tight before replacing the seal try this first. Take a hair dryer to it moving it around the seal getting it really hot. This heat expends the seal. This has worked for me every time I've tried it. A repair man I wish I remember his name to give him credit told me...

    Cornfusion...

Timing your corn plantings to stop cross pollination can run into a problem also just by the weather. Here in Washington State I've had times where I planted and they been growing for about three weeks so I plant the other kind only to run into a cold time for a while and the first one slows...

heading for the border - ID/WA!

Steve. Thanks for picture. Such a hard habit to break throwing out rocks from my raised beds. After I saw your posts though I thought hey I been brainwashed. Few rocks aren't bad and they can hold heat and release it come night time temps so they do serve a purpose. Conconully, if you ever...

heading for the border - ID/WA!

Hey Steve. No idea on the history of Woodinvilles name. If you ever get a chance to come visit Woodinville again you should try to make it a concert at St. Michelle Winery. What a beautiful setting there to sit out on the lawn and just relax and enjoy good music. Duvall 20 years ago like a...

heading for the border - ID/WA!

I'm outside of Duvall about 1,000 feet up. It's another world here in the winter we drive mile down the hill and nothing. Right now just over an inch of snow on the ground it's beautiful. Chickens here still go out in the snow. I like to throw them some bird seed in the snow it keeps them busy.
