I know several growers that take cuttings and get them to root without ever using any rooting hormone. I'd say they're pretty tough. :-)

A friend of mine has a small garden with a 5 ft fence and they hop right over it without a care in the world.

There's very few you can actually do this with. Hybrids and day neutrals, which is mostly what's on the market, no. They don't grow true from seed.

Put bare root strawberries in 2 weeks ago. They're already on a rampage! Hope this lasts like this all season long.
