The banana peels are a great idea too. Thats one of the things my snooty chickens wont eat. I'm going to try the egg shell seed pot idea too. If nothing else it will be cute :)

I had the same problem with Gurney's this spring - I ordered grapevines and potatoes and strawberries. Half the strawberries were dead, the potatoes were rotting, and the grapevine was the wrong kind (and dry and dying) They did ship all new things to me, and told me about their warranty...

Well- thats what I thought when I was looking at my cabbage and spinach plants yesterday- they all seem to be growing bud clusters... I guess that 90 degree heat wave wasn't so good for them. My cabbage never formed heads, it just kept growing taller and taller and now has broccoli like buds on...
