    I'm almost thinking it's a hybrid because they are growing like crazy...and they barely have any "cotton" compared to some of the other trees I've seen pictures of. Also, I tried to cut a limb & root it...but nothing happened...so maybe they grow from seed?

    That's what my dad says because they do have white stuff that looks almost like chicken down that comes off of them once a year...but I've been unable to find anything about cottonwoods growing that well, or that fast or even for sale in this area? Do they have another name? Are there hybrid...

    Well, I tried...but they are all in the background shots. :barnie The leaves are HUGE...probably close to 6" long and 4" wide.

    It's the tree in the left side of this pic...I was taking photos of the forest fire behind our house... the other one is in the background...just behind the dog's head. This pic was taken in 2006, and the tree is considerably larger now...(please excuse the round pen construction mess)...
