Sigh- If only the rent around here was cheaper than purchasing a house. My house payment is less than my rent was! And finding a landlord that will let you have pets.

I'll be gardening my own this year - and with my father in his yard - between the 2 we should have a pretty sustainable summer. Does it count as self-sufficient if the chickens are at a friend's farm because I legally can't have them in the city and I'll be eating eggs and meat from them...

Considering purchasing this cucumber, but the price makes me hesitant (as well as it seeming to be a hybrid and not OP). Anyone have experience with these? Or a comparable heirloom or OP variety - I like the idea of itty bitty little cukes!

Well, I work as a vet tech and have no desk. But I'm gonna use my desk at home - we keep our "office" closed except when we are in there. My demon cat eats pretty much anything without thorns. But so far he's only trying uprooting the snake plant.

I hope to add everything from the J & P catalog I got today to my yard (it won't happen, but I can hope!)
