I like poultry. I don't raise chickens because I am allergic to chicken eggs. Instead I raise ducks. Birds provide you with a more stedy supply of edibles because of their eggs. Then, if you end up with extra roosters or get a hen that wont lay, you can eat it.

I certainly was not expecting to grow a 28 pound blue hubbard. I doubt I will grow them again either. The vine took over half of my back yard! Next year I am planning on trying small pie pumpkins or maybe some cinderellas.

Got any neem oil? Might not be a bad idea to hit them with a neem oil spray. I had all my indoor peppers wiped out by some bugs. Turned out to be spider mites AND whiteflies, but I keep neem oil on hand now. No more pepper cooties! :D
Well...it might be like me becoming a nutritionist... I have been low carbing for 5 years. I would have to give wrong answers to pass test and would have to be quiet during lectures and not say what I think.
Since my garden seems to be a pretty even mix between success and fail, i can talk to successful and failed gardeners without stepping on toes or getting the pity look.
