Just hung my first wind chime outside my kitchen window. I love the tinkling sound it makes - I wonder if the neighbors do? I don't know why I've never had one before?

I have several windchimes. I love the sound. I do not know why anyone would not!

Growing up my mom had the most GORGEOUS brass wind chimes. We lived close to Amish country, and she bought them from this Amish man at their little public store where they would sell homebaked goods and meats and whatnot. My bedroom was right over our back porch, and when I got older I would lay on the porch roof under the stars and listen to the tinkling wind chimes. I don't know whatever happened to those wind chimes, but, when we get to our forever home, I'm surely getting some!

I enjoy mine, until a really stormy, windy night... Then I lay there listening to those darn bells ring all night!!

Reading this made me suddenly realize why I love the sound - It is how I imagine the background sounds of heaven will be. Thanks Nachoqtpie!

Have you seen the windchimes that are tuned for a specific chord? When they move, it sounds like different notes in organ music. Beautiful, but very pricy. I found a place on the internet that you can listen to them. (Can't recall the name of it right now, but wouldn't be hard to find, probably)
I wouldn't want even a beautiful windchime hung very near my house. Far away, where you hear only a faint chime in the breeze :love
