History was made today. First snow in May in recorded history. The previous latest date was April 30th.

Ill hold off planting my beans for a few days. And I have four hummingbirds at my feeder this morning gorging themselves. It takes a lot of energy for them to keep themselves warm

Last spring I put my tomatoes, peppers, and stuff like that out about three weeks earlier than normal. Beans, corn, and some other crops that need the ground warm to germinate got a real early start. Not this year.

You just gotta go with the flow.

You are getting some real extreme weather! Wow! Even with all this weirdness, we still haven't seen any snow, only on TV and pics here. I just hope that we don't get another record breaking drought like we had the last few years.

Ridgerunner...I hear ya! We received 9 plus inches of heavy wet snow yesterday. Some towns by us received 17 inches. It is the winter that jusy won`t quit! Loads of seedlings ready to go in. Happy planting....eventually!

What can you do? But geez! Come on sun. Over ridgerunner and sparks house P L E A S E ! :coolsun

I was actually able to get some stuff in the ground 4 weeks earlier than I would usually even dare. Because the snow left and its been warm. No rain though. It is incredibly dry already.

A little dry here, too.

Obviously, no record precip in March. No, latest-60-degrees-in-history. No, latest-70-degrees-in-history.

Hopefully, things will even out for all of us soon.

Steve :hugs

Strange, and this year here in Northern California at about 2,000 feet elevation I planted Peas March 16th which is one day earlier than even 1968 down in Santa Rosa at 150 feet elevation. I planted Bean seeds into the ground starting what was it, April 20th or so, also earlier than ever, and it has not frosted here since February 28th.

The summer breeze is consistently from the summer direction earlier than ever, and there is a...are 2 forest fires just south of here already.

TEG's posts I believe will become a record for the climate's changing patterns. Small or large, man made or not.

this year has been a very different for everyone.

here it should be in the low 70's with gentle farmers rain and mowing every weekend since early april...
nope not this year has been in the low to mid 60's and when it rains it's 1/2 -1" at a time and only mowed twice and thats to knock down the weeds.

they are calling for from sunday till tuesday anywhere from 2-3" of rain
and the lows in the low 50's with highs in the low 60's with winds around 10-16 gusts 28+

needless to say we fell everyones griff on this years weather........ come on summer

Your still warmer than me. Our high today is about 42. Of course, after tomorrow morning the lowest in the ten day forecast is 50. I'm hoping by late next week I can think of beans, corn, stuff like that.
